I am a middle aged person who still probly has a young mind. I love nature, animals, and art.
I also have a mental illness that I battle every day, but this journal WILL NOT discuss that AT ALL. This journal is only for my artwork.
I recently started collecting ACEO's they are 'Art Cards' and all are a standard 21/2x31/2 inches. Basic business card or 'trading card' size. I've tried making some, but I just can't construct anything that small. All my ideas are big and grandios, sp?, and I still am trying to learn enough skills to make it all look good on
artboard.
I work only in acrylics because they are inexpensive, readily available, non-toxic-except for some pigments, seem to be more enviromentally friendly, and can be varnished or not.
I tried water mixable oils but they still dry too slow, and even with the water clean up, the oil-and some pigments-are not good for the environment, and the varnishes are extreeeeeemly gross and toxic.
I love oil and those who can paint with them, more paint to ya, but I'll stick with my very easy and forgiving acrylics.
